Q: Does iD9 Slide, a calendared wrap film, work as well as the cast films I’m used to?
A: Every film is different. iD9 Slide and iD9 Air represent new calendared film technology, with enhanced durability, conformability and performance, similar to that of a cast film.
Q: What is the expected lifespan of the iD9 Series; iD9 Slide, iD9 Air and Imageguard iD9 Gloss?
A: This is a 9 year vertical durability unprinted, for zone 1 states. As ink durability varies, in almost all cases the ink will fade drastically prior to the film degrading, yellowing or cracking excessively.
Q: Can I use iD9 Slide to wrap a vehicle with complex curves and deep channels?
A: Yes the iD9 product line can be used as a fully conformable vehicle wrap film, that is designed for complex & compound curves, and vehicle channels & recess’s.
Q: What is the difference between iD9 Slide and iD9 Air?
A: iD9 Air is our all-around hi-performance calendared film, with enhanced durability and performance, and features our Air technology for bubble-free installs. It can be used for general signage, retail & vehicle graphics and full vehicle wraps.
iD9 Slide features the same face film, with our Slide technology, our very low tack slide-able adhesive, that is designed for vehicle surfaces. This is a product designed for fast vehicle-wrap applications, or solo-installs on a vehicle.
Q: Can Imageguard iD9 Laminate be used with other medias?
A: Yes it can, the iD9 2 Mil super soft calendared laminate, is ultra-durable and conformable. A great example of when this can be used, is with our iD7 Multigrip on structured or rough surfaces.
Q: Has iD9 been tested for longevity and weathering?
A: Yes the iD9 went through an extensive testing process for durability, both in our lab, and with infield customer testing around the world. The film itself is a proprietary recipe, that we’ve used within our Imageperfect range for many years, and is tried and tested in many different markets, from all over Europe, to Australia, Middle-East and Africa. Some of these markets are extreme in terms of UV.
Q: I’ve never heard of Imageperfect, is it a new company?
A: While we are new to the North American market, we are a brand that has been around for quite a while! In fact, next year 2026, marks our 30th anniversary since the Imageperfect brand was created, while our factory has been operating for 40 years producing our portfolio of products.
Q: Does Imageperfect offer a warranty on their products? If so, what is it?
A: Our warranty is very similar to other manufacturers and brands you currently see in the market. Our warranty is simple and robust, and explains what happens if a product does not do what it’s supposed to.
Q: I’ve been using other medias for years, why should I consider trying the Imageperfect iD9 series?
A: One thing that makes Imageperfect different as a brand, is our commitment to innovation and creating products that solve problems for our customers. In the case of iD9, we wanted to give our customers similar performance and durability to a traditional cast film, with a lower “price tag”, that enables them to wrap with confidence and at the same time win more fleet projects. Q: What is the removability of iD9 Slide and Air?
A: Both products are designed to be clean removable with vehicle wrap and graphics applications, and in the case of iD9 Air, this also has good removability across other substrates.
Q: Does the Slide and Air technology make iD9 faster to apply?
A: Yes, both technologies facilitate faster application. In the case of ID9 Slide, designed for vehicle application, this features a slide-able adhesive that makes vehicle wraps and graphics a breeze, and even allows you to install with a solo installer.
Air is our bubble-free application technology, that allows installers to avoid bubbles during large flat installs and in channels or recess’s.
Q: iD9 Slide doesn’t seem very sticky, is it going to stay on the vehicle?
A: Our Slide adhesive technology has a very low initial tack, to facilitate faster install and superior repositionability. This is a high-level vehicle grade adhesive, that builds rapidly after installation and reaches its ultimate bond after 24 hours.
Like most acrylic-based adhesives in our industry, the bond increases with time, heat and pressure. Hence the use of a heat gun for post heating in risk areas, and pressure with a squeegee during installation.
Q: What type of applications is iD9 Air best suited for?
A: This is our all in one IP powerhouse film, for signage, vehicle, retail applications and much more. It has an enhanced durability, compared to other calendared films, and features similar properties, spec and performance to a traditional cast film.
Q: What type of ink systems is iD9 compatible with?
A: iD9 is compatible with all standard ink technologies; Solvent, Eco-Solvent, Latex, UV and UV Gel. However, like with all films, we recommend choosing the right ink technology for the right application!
